"I know of a guy that will fix computers for $50, no matter what the issue is, he does it all!"

I've heard this at times from people, and of course we are all trying to shop around for the best price to have our computers repaired -  no one wants to spend a lot of money for it or for anything else whatsoever, especially in these times of global financial struggle.

We all look for the guy that does it all for a shocking low price but will the service or product be as good as promoted?

Will that money spent be truly worth? Will it last long? Will it be reliable? If you are lucky maybe, but most of the times you are getting a lemon if it is a product and if it is a service you are getting bamboozled and/or you are in the hands of an incompetent.

When I hear that sentence above, I say: Sure! There is a guy that will come to your house, will mow your lawn, make you coffee, do groceries and fix your computer, all for the special and truly unbelievable price of $50, wow!

There are plenty of people like it on Craigslist and similar advertising websites, now do not misunderstand what I am saying please, there is nothing wrong with it, we are all trying to make a living but we should stick with what we know and not make false promises.

Next time you hear that or you are thinking of calling "that guy", make sure to know more about this person rather than just knowing a name and a phone number.

I have a lot of respect for the profession of a PC Tech, and I can't believe anyone doing this for a living and professionally charging super low rates for time consuming and problematic issues.
At times the repair can be done very quickly and you will probably spend very little for the repair, but other times you just pay for what is right and worth.

This above is a mirror of our economic system. If you ask me if I shop at Walmart, I will tell you I don't, never! It is big corporations like it that put every Pa' and Ma' store out of business, and with it the middle class, and with it the good jobs that were actually paid, with a paid vacation, benefits and decent working environments.

We've allowed big stores like this one take production away from our country and into China instead, eliminating jobs. Then, they sell these products at ridiculous low prices to us; hooray! Congratulations to ourselves! Now, we can get that HP laptop for $300, or that printer for $50 and get away with murder.

Have you wondered where your children and grandchildren will go to work before they graduate? They will take jobs at Walmart or McDonald's because that is what is mainly available. That big Walmart around your neighborhood has now taken the place of 100 of those Pa' and Ma' stores that before were offering a decent salary and hundreds of jobs. Now you got one Walmart, ten jobs and each one of them sucks!

The whole economy is simply no more, no less than an exchange, if we invest our money in products that are made in the U.S.A from the groceries to the laptop, and these will not be cheap, we will also maintain the job industry alive in our country along with benefits and jobs that are decent!

I've simplified things a little but the concept is the cheaper we buy the poorer we become because we are not putting back our money into our communities, into our nation, into our present and children's future.

Said this, I sincerely hope to expand my computer repair business so that I can introduce new labor rules and build a completely new working environment model that can only inspire our new generations for a better future, not a cheap future.

I will continue to share my random thoughts and computer tips with you so stay tuned.
I must go now, I got a guy coming to my house to fix my dishwasher, and of course I am only paying $50 for it :).

See you soon,

Marcellino

Honesty Should Be A Priority, Do Not Get Scammed! Tags: honesty computer repair laptop repair in long island desktop repair in Long Island Nassau county honesty of the repair replacement desktop laptop part

Have you ever brought your car to a mechanic for a repair and felt like you got ripped off afterwards?

When I started my computer repair business here in Long Island, I wanted honesty and customer satisfaction to be the number one rule and priority. I looked at the auto repair shop business model and thought I will never make my business like theirs!

I' ve always hated to go to a mechanic and hear: I need to change your water pump, your belt, your transmission and on and on and on...until you get charged a fortune, never end up seeing the old parts to verify the actual damage, never end up seeing the new replaced parts, never end up seeing the receipts which show the actual cost of these parts. You get out of the auto repair shop wondering: Did I really need to replace these parts? Was it really necessary and/or did he just make that all up?

I am sure you thought and felt the same way too unless you know a mechanic that you trust and does his job honestly. Many investigations have been done revealing scams and bad businesses in all fields, what I say isn't new, nonetheless people keep being scammed by these, that is why I keep warning everyone to check the credentials and testimonials of a business before offering your patronage.

For example, in my job, I make sure every time to show the old broken/defective computer part to the customers and leave it to them, I also give them the receipt of the new part which shows the price at which it was purchased and its warranty if any.
At times i snap pictures and/or make short videos of the repair as to show people what exactly was the issue with their computers in cases of hardware repair, and if performed on-site, every step is explained and reported verbally and in writing for future reference.
I wish I could get this kind of service when I bring my car to a mechanic but I will have to wait to see that happen.

The truth is, there will never be a way to really trust somebody when you put in their hands your computer or your car or anything else that needs to be fixed, you just have to do your own research beforehand and go with your guts!

Finally, my business model is: When I walk the streets of Nassau County, Long Island, I will want to say hi to you, not hide from you :).

Thank you for reading my thoughts, stay tuned for many more, for my general computer tips on how to maintain your computer healthy and where to buy your electronics for the best quality and at the best price.
